Founder’s Note:
As a storyteller and founder, I pay attention to what defines a place. In Memphis, barbecue smoke is part of the landscape — slow, intentional, layered. The Bluff City Old Fashioned carries that spirit forward. The subtle smoked element is a nod to Memphis craft and culinary tradition, woven into a classic structure that allows the rye to lead. It’s grounded, layered, and unmistakably Tennessee.
Recipe
Ingredients
• 2 oz Jackson McCrea Rye
• ¼ oz rich demerara syrup
• 1 bar spoon smoked simple syrup
• 2 dashes aromatic bitters
• Orange peel
Instructions
1. Add rye, demerara syrup, smoked syrup, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir until chilled and slightly diluted.
3. Strain over a large cube in a rocks glass.
4. Express orange peel over the drink and garnish.
Profile: Smooth, structured, with a refined whisper of smoke.

Magnolia Blossom
Founder’s Note:
As a historian, I’m aware that certain symbols carry memory. In Memphis, a magnolia tree once marked refuge at the Burkle Estate, now the Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum — a quiet signal of safety and passage. That history matters to me.
The Magnolia Blossom honors that legacy. I wanted a cocktail that allows whiskey to sparkle while remaining grounded. The wine-barrel finish of Jackson McCrea lifts beautifully in a bright, effervescent format. This is rye in full bloom — layered, luminous, and rooted in place.

Ingredients
• 1.5 oz Jackson McCrea Rye
• ½ oz elderflower liqueur
• ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
• 2 oz dry sparkling wine
• Lemon twist or edible flower (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. Shake rye, elderflower, and lemon juice with ice.
2. Strain into a chilled coupe.
3. Top gently with dry sparkling wine.
4. Garnish lightly.

In Memphis and across the South, sweet tea is a gesture of welcome. It is offered with intention. The Memphis Homecoming honors that tradition. The tea brings familiarity; the rye brings structure and depth. Together, they create a cocktail rooted in hospitality — smooth, layered, and distinctly Tennessee.
